Moss Boss Roofing is a family-owned roofing company based in Salem, Oregon, serving homeowners throughout the Willamette Valley.
The company was founded by brothers Tom and Joe Epperly with a simple goal: provide homeowners with honest roofing advice, quality workmanship, and a better overall experience from the first conversation through the final cleanup.
Joe brings more than a decade of hands-on roofing experience to the company, while Tom brings a background in customer service, business operations, workplace safety, and insurance. Together, we combine practical roofing knowledge with clear communication and professional project management.
We are not a large roofing sales organization, and we do not want to become one. Moss Boss Roofing was built to be a local company where homeowners can communicate directly with the people responsible for their project.

Our Philosophy: Education Before Sales
Roofing can be difficult for homeowners to evaluate. Most people cannot safely climb onto their roof, and they often have to rely entirely on the contractor inspecting it.
We take that responsibility seriously.
Our job is not to scare homeowners into purchasing the most expensive option. Our job is to explain what we found, show the available options, and help each homeowner make an informed decision.
When a repair is a reasonable solution, we will say so. When maintenance can help extend the life of the roof, we will explain it. When replacement is the most responsible long-term option, we will clearly explain why.

Tom Epperly | Co-Founder
Tom Epperly is a proud Northwest native, born and raised in Salem, Oregon. With roots deep in the community, where he attended and graduated from Sprague High School and participates in Hoopla annually. Although he’s also lived in Eugene, Bend, and Portland, Tom considers Salem his hometown and the perfect place to raise a family.

Known for his disciplined work ethic and driven nature, Joe approaches each roofing project with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring lasting results for every client.
